Well, it's that time again. We've done this the last several years and we've had to good time. Even year before last when Don, Dave and Doug ended up at the wrong Sonny's BBQ for lunch. :p What say we meet up again, browse the show, and then go get something to eat when we've done all the damage we can do.

Do they have vendors there, like at bike week?

I am always looking for gloves, jackets and shwag that most bike shops don't carry.

That is good news. Last year was the first year that I missed Bike Week in twenty four years of street riding.

I was trying to figure out how to make time to go this year.
But if I can buy crap in Atlanta, then there is no need for a trip to Daytona.

Well I've attended that show for a good many years, met a few of you one year, but missed you all last year as I was with a exhibitor. Don't know if I will attend this year, the weather will most likely be one deciding factor. The other deciding factor is the exhibitor listing, which is still not published.

Dave, of course there are a couple of hotels by the Bike show, one is the Waverly which is next door and I forget the other one (it is across the street). And yes, they are not your 49.95/night kind of rooms. The Waverly is nice though! :D

Are you coming on the bike or in the car?

If you are in the car you can always stay at a few exits above Marietta and save a few bucks. OR, you can stay with Tom and Karen, they only charge $ 75.00/night!

There is a real cheap hotel south of town that we plan on staying at;
Hometown Inn Atlanta South
6231 HWY 85 Riverdale, GA 30274
800-249-4302
Room Rates from $35.99

We drive in to the show and pay parking, or park near a MARTA.

See you there,

The Reenaissance-Waverly Hotel is out by the Cobb Galleria where the show used to be. I think Bob and I are going to cage it down early Saturday morning.

I think Bob and I are going to cage it down early Saturday morning. The place across the street from the WCC is the Omni in the front of CNN Center. Within easy walking distance of Marta's Civic Center or Peachtree Center Stations is a Marriott, Hilton, Westin, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express. Not sure what the rates are though. If you want to stay farther north on the line there are more hotels in the Buckhead area.

In case I do make it, when and where are we meeting before lunch. I usually get there early and get some pics without a storm of folks in the way.

We'll probably do like we did last year and walk over and eat in the CNN building. They've got a food plaza like most big malls. We'll have to work at finding enough tables to get us together.

If that develops early, I may not make it. I figure if it hits while there I can at least make it to some place to layover until it clears up a little. My problem is the other drivers, I'm used to snow.

It is about 7:45 here and the radar show solid precip all the way back to New Orleans. Prediction is for 1-3+ inches of snow, it is the 3+ that has me worried. So I'll be staying right here by the warm fire, may try for tomorrow.
Yall have a good one and try to stay safe.

Me, Al and Bob will be heading to the show as soon as they show up here at the house.

I was hoping to pick up my bike from the shop BUT it doesn't look good!

Home same and sound. Snow not a problem even though it was coming down at a pretty good clip downtown. Roads were wet but not slick. It was good to see Al, Don, Brett (maybe), Al & Jan, Doug and Bob.

Nothing much new at the show this year except the 800GS, which looks pretty cool. Got a new Shoei MultiTec crash lid. Now it's time to ride.

And John, everybody wonders what you look like. They can't remember whether they've see you or not. ;)

"maybe"; I thought I was the highlite of the day!

I left the bike at the shop with the weather (as it was) and a new front tire, I didn't want to take any chances.

It was good to see part of the SE group.

Oh, Don said that anyone heading to Braselton at Chatea Elan is welcome to stop by and say hello, order anything you want and put it on his tab!!!!! :p

What a sharp constrast from this weekend to CCR event there in o6... the grounds where covered with snow Saturday and temp in low 30s Sunday morning...

One of the bell captains said to me, hey you be one of those "motorcycle cowboys here couple years ago"

Not a bad deal, Internet special weekend deal, I drove down to Doraville and caught the Marta...no parking fee, $4.00 round trip ticket...dropped me off in front of the Congress center.... One of my BMW friends from Alabama said he and his wife booked at Omni, paid $30.00 to park their car at hotel plus the room rate...

As far as the show.... well it wasn't the best for sure.... few BMW related type vendors... Sierra BMW I didn't see this year, Wunderlich (sp) I didn't see.. BMW display was nice... no BMW clothing just styrofoam models with clothing description. I did find my sock vendor from Chicago and picked up an item from Battery tender folks.

Saw John Powell.... Ironhorse is getting ready for us in April...have added a lift...so I will not have to bring mind. Also making a few more improvements.

But seeing you folks and lunch: priceless!

Sorry to miss you all yesterday, but with that forecast of 3+ and most of it in my path, then add that Cindy got up not feeling well, I made the better decision to stay here.

But I did get there today, my pics are at: http://rides.webshots.com/album/562204703kCToJE and no, I'm not in any of those at the IMS.

I have to agree, this was not one of the better shows; fewer vendors, but KTM was there finally. The Vectrix was a refreshing change that we may all come to live with in time, but I do hope it is much later.

For those that wonder what I look like, I have attached a pic. I hope to see you all at STC. Until then . . . . . .
