what grease to use on needle bearings

Do I leave the BMW grease on the needle bearings or pack loads of something else?

I used EP-2. Not like they rotate at any great RPM, but I guess they do take a fair load. Perhaps a high % Molly would have been OK too. Remember during assembly to pre-load to 9Nm, back off and then final load to 7Nm.

For what it's worth, BMW manual only specifies "install... with a small quantity of grease". No mention of type. The bearings come from factory preloaded with a white packing that looks to me like the spline grease (which, coincidentally, is specified as Optimoly MP 3).

Thanks guys. Maybe I will leave it as BMW packed it.
As to the bears, maybe the youngsters shouldn't have fur arms...................
