Really? I see 53 degrees and clear outside, with a high of 61 today. Now my commute is across the hall, but I suppose I may have to go for a ride down through the Malibu hills today. :)
Be safe y'all, and have a good holiday.

Thanks for the heads up! I decided to commute to the Hot Tub and soak instead. I got a three day weekend!
WhoHoo
I'm thinkin' that a late Jan or early Feb trip to So. Cal is worthy of a plan. It is time to start doing the snowbird thing. Dang it's cold outside!

I thought about a ride today, but the cats & dogs coming down from the sky changed my mind. I like Ernie's idea the best so far. Just back from a week on Hawaii where the weather was outstanding, but the riding limited - mostly to HD rentals.

Brian,
You are right, but I read your post a day late.
Yesterday morning (6:30 AM) my unheated garage was at 46 degrees and not a sign of frost anywhere outside. I hopped on my bicycle (as I do every morning) and headed into town ~ 3 miles. About one mile later both bicycle wheels washed out and I kissed the pavement, ouch! Ice all over the pavement; I had a hard time getting traction to stand up. A little bruised , but OK. I called my wife (who also bicycles) at lunchtime, and the same thing had happened to her, except she skinned her knees and elbows (she was about 15 minutes ahead of me going in another direction). Later I found out that a lot of accidents had happened around Eugene because of black ice.
I do not understand how the surface of the road can freeze over when the temperature is well above freezing? This type of weather scenario seems cruel and unfair, but all is well that ends well.

I went for a little ride yesterday and I was thinking about y'all. It did get down into the 50's, so I had to turn on my heated gear. :D

Could that be bugs on the windscreen I see Ken? Shame on you for not cleaning your machine, or is that "dirty bike" award up for grabs? ;)

Ken,
Nice picture! It makes a very nice computer rendered painting that would look excellent printed on canvas. If you are interested, send me a PM.

I've been fortunate enough to do the PCH, 1 and 101 from LAX to Santa Barbara a few times this year, albeit caged. 1st time in a 350Z coupe, 2nd in a Crossfire Ragtop and last (2nd week of December) in a Hertz 6 bangin' Mustang Piece'o'crap. the ragtop by far was awesome... After seeing Ken's pic it just reminds me how beautiful a ride that is and how i MUST do that on a bike!
