Hi

My name is Dan , I'm from Romania. I've registered on this board in June this year but this is my first post. Even I don't own a BMW LT bike , I'm going to buy a BMW R1150GS this spring and I need to be prepared.

I've already asked some friends a couple of questions regarding the gear that I will need before I bring the bike home and most of them recommended me the BMW Riders Gear ... to be more specific , the Streetguard 2 suit (jacket + pants). In Europe they sell very expensive and I know some people in the USA that might help me buy them in USD instead of EUROs.

Also , I'm interested to buy a "Phase Change Functional Undersuit" , I really have a big problem with cold and I thought this combination between this suit + the undersuit will be ok in cold days.

Any recommendations where I should look for a good price for them ?

I might be interested in this too

Buying this from Europe will cost me a small fortune ...

Sorry for my poor spelling...

Hi Hog

Thanks for the link. I will email them with my request. Other links are appreciated too

Later edit: Man, those guys at Sierra BMW have a HUGE store with a bunch of stuff for BMW , I've never any other store better then this one.

If anyone has another store that can beat their stock , please let me know :) Meanwhile I will get in touch with them

Dan,

I have ordered multiple items from Sierra in the last few years, and without a doubt they have the best presence on the Internet for BMW Riders Gear, at least here in the U.S., and their customer service is excellent. Discounted prices are rare, as dealer pricing is closely monitored and scrutinized by BMW so that full margins are realized, but occassionally you will see things marked down from full retail.

I have the Streetguard 2 suit, and there is no question it is bombproof and made for serious weather. I am convinced that with a set of heated liners underneath this suit, one could ride to the North Pole and back with no problem. :)

Chicago BMW always sells parts at 20% off the list price, and I think this applies to apparel as well. I don't have a clue if they'll ship outside the US, but with the drop in the dollar vs. the Euro it has got to be a screaming bargain... Shipping by Postal Service is fairly inexpensive and quick, just make sure it is fully insured.

Thanks to both of you.

Ranger6: It might sound stupid, but do you have any link to show me how those heated liners look ?

Ron: I know some people in Chicago area that could help me buy them , but I can't find any products on their website , is it http://chicagobmwmotorcycle.com/ ?
