Very interesting. I still feel MUCH safer as long as *I* hold the stick though.

Well actually all it does is provide signals to keep the airplane on a level flight path which is a far cry from it 'flying" the plane. Not that that is any less amazing, but some of the reports I think went a little overboard in their presentations of the events, but then sensationalism does sell news, like anything else.

here is a somewhat more realistic report of the work, note they have "digested" the information some, whereas many of the reporting news agencies all pretty much quoted verbatim the information provided. I read about a half dozen that all read the same almost to a word.

Interesting too that this was back in 2004, I wonder what’s developed since then. I'll have to look around some more now that my curiosity is peeked
