Well, did ya? I was going to but got busy at home and failed to make it. Just curious what we missed.

John,
The show was a nice turnout for the local MC dealers/suppliers but as far as missing anything, probably not. The new BMW's for this year were not there like they were in Seattle. Things of note:
-One dealer had new Honda Runes (no longer in production) for $17900, versus the original $25k price.
-New Victory Vision is definitely a unique style
-Interesting, Rich's Seats came all the way down from Seattle
We went Saturday morning and the attendance looked to be pretty good.

I buzzed over to the show. To be honest, I was disappointed in how small it was. There just wasn't very many vendors. The BMWOR space was so small that you had trouble walking between their bikes. The F800GS was no where to be had. I hate to pass over a show so close, but I won't be going next year. It's just not worth the cost of admission and parking to me. ... just my opinion ...

John,
I was there for a short time, in between work and classes. I agree with Jeff and Dan's statements, in that it was not worth the time/cash expenditure. Perhaps I'm spoiled by the Detroit and Chicago International Motorcycle Shows, but the Portland show felt like a small gathering of dealerships displaying ordinary merchandise. If it becomes an annual thing I may return, but I'll give it a few years to mature.

Tks guys! Kind of what I was guessing, but it's always good to hear from someone who actually made the show.
I think we'll stick with the Seattle IMC Shows!

I'd like to prearrange next years trip to Seattle and make sure that we start in Tacoma (or where ever Brian might be) for another green chili burrito. Make sure when you are wondering around in the show to hang with Brian because he will negotiate a great price for ya:)

If we don't support the local show - it won't grow. Personally, I wouldn't leave town to see any show. However, I go to the Portland Auto show every year, and now the Portland MC show, hoping it will grow.
For me, I don't have the time to wander around to other places for entertainment.
In fact, if BMWOR leaves Tigard, my LT will be posted.....

A buddy and I went, not as many bikes as we had hoped for. I'm looking for a new bike and I kept coming back to the LT......Uhmmmm.
I agree that we need to support the local stuff-if we don't go there will not be more shows to get bigger...
After reading here though the RT is looking better and better. I want something lighter than my wing, yet smoother than my old (1981) Yamah 920 RH. I had been concerned with the vibration issue but it seems (from all of you-THANKS) that it is not an issue.
Tigard BMW has a sweet 2005 LT for a good price, under 8K miles, with an extended warranty that I hope to ride tomomow, assuming that it does not snow again !
I think I'll ride the RT 1st, and if it is as nice as you all say it is wait until March to buy (Tigard is having a sale sthen o maybe a good buy can be had on an 07)
Are there any group (BMW) rides put on (besides from Tigard BMW)??
Anyway thanks for all the post to read-they have been a lot of help.

OK, picked one of the coldest days of the year for the test ride :)
I 1st rode the RT-WOW, I could not believe how smooth it was for a bike with 4 miles on it! We did a freeway stint, and halfway to our turnaround point my hands were burning. Heated grips on High are not to be messed with.
On the ride back, I rode the LT. WOW again! Half way back to the shop I decided on the LT.......
Got home last night and I could barely move...Getting to old??
Make a long story shorter, I have re-thunk again, With a lower seat (30 in. inseam), and an aftermarket windscreen I now think I'll wait for a little warmer weather for a new RT. Guess I'm a three season rider now.
Any thoughts from you?
Also, does anyone in Oregon, SW Washington rent these? I'd like to spend a full day on either one before I spend 15K to 23K for a bike.
