View Full Version : New Airbox. BMW got the fueling correct

My new airbox was installed last Friday along with a software upgrade from 7.0.1 to 10 whatever. 33 degree F and drizzle limited my testing until today. 30 degrees, roads dry but well sanded and salted to perfection.

Low speed fueling is absolutely wonderful. Throttle snatch is GONE. Overly sensitive throttle is GONE. I can drive 40 mph in 6th gear (not recommended) or 30 in 3rd with no snatching or bucking just like my 93 K11RS. Couldn't do that before!

Shifts are smoother at low rpm's! I pride myself on smooth shifting ($5 fine if I bonk helmets) but sometimes at low rpm's this GT made me feel like a beginner. Well guess what, fixed. Shifts like my 93. No more fines. Now I can creep along in traffic with the blue hairs and old men with their caps pulled down eyes.

It is now actually a joy to drive in city and urban traffic.

No flat spots found in the powerband. Don't know if it makes more power. It didn't loose any, still runs like a striped-ass ape, what ever that is.

No high idle today.

Congratulations BMW !!!!!!!!!!!

A big thanks to all those who have posted about HI/BBS for the last year!

I had my 2006 KGT done last week and so far no HI & BBS. Smoother shifter is a plus!
Yippee!
