Still functioning, this steam powered saw mill in Oregon is on the National Historic Register. Very cool. Handles lumber to 85' long and 6' diameter. One of their markets: masts for schooners.

Man thats cool... I wish there was one nearby to watch.... and buy some wood from them!

Amazing what we don't know about our surroundings! Tks for that link Dave. I must drive right by this little town at least every other month when I take Hwy 99W down to Eugene. I'll just have to give myself a little time for a side jaunt one of these future trips.

We are way out of touch with our surroundings. I ride up and down the 99W also and never knew this existed. Thanks Dave.... in Texas!!
