The LT is down for maintenance/repair of the Idle problems.
I have been riding the LT for a month and a half every day for all my riding.

Yesterday afternoon I hopped back on the GS after moving all my stuff between bikes so that I could commute on the GS this morning.

The difference is more than amazing between these two bikes and I just love rolling on the throttle through a Toll Plaza and having her float the front wheel off the ground, in 2nd gear no less.

Now I got a jones for an RT or RTP!

Damn, I'm hooked.

I rode a GT at Americade this past summer. Being used to riding the heavy LT for so long, I discovered that the GS steers better with the front wheel on the ground! But man...what a machine. I wanted one. Still do. So...Looks like I'm going to pull the trigger on a new one here before the snow melts. If I get it too soon, I'll be tempted to ride it in the snow!

Just picked up a new GS Adventure. I planned on a GS and walked out with an Adventure. I hope I made the right choice. I only have 100 miles on it so I have to ride it slow. On a very sad note I am having to sell my RT1150 which is a great bike. I think I will buy a RT1200 is in the future.

Don't wait on the snow, just do it! I bought mine while I was in Groton CT, just to ride it through the winter instead of the LT. I managed to convince the wife that I needed it during the winter just so I didn't drop the LT. She laughed and I bought it on the spot. Both bikes have their uses. My main one is that my wife will not ride the GSA and is mad at me for selling the LT. I will have an LT again as soon as I leave Hawaii. My signature needs updating.

Thanks for the advice. I just did it yesterday. Merry Christmas to ME! The announcement is a little premature, as I don't take delivery of the bike for about 2 more weeks, but she's brand new-out of the crate-Zero miles.

I plan on keeping the LT, but like a lot of other folks here that have 'turned to the dark side' I don't plan to ride the old girl as much as I did. But she's paid for and I love her (Am I talking about my bike or my girlfriend?!?!) so I want to keep her.

In my line of work, you tend to realize just how short life can be. I made a list of all the things that I want to do before I die (it's a long list!) and I want to try to cross one thing off a year. Last year it was witness the changing of the guard at the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. Sooner or later, I want to ride the Haul Road in Alaska...and it would be kind of difficult to do on the LT. That's the rational for the purchase of my new Adventure. At least that's what I told the girlfriend.

I feel more like I've been hooked, reeled in, gaffed and gutted. :D

Brutus was on my Big Blue lift for six weeks. I have been riding Rufus and doing the occasional cage thing, so I know exactly what you are talking about.

The down time was for my 18k and hopefully the last mass farkle infusion. My new blog (http://JDsRoad.com) summarizes things pretty well and more will be posted, though it's not likely to ever be up to the standards of your great site :thumb:. While I have been involved in computing it has mostly been engineering related. Web site development is new territory for me and I am not looking to make a career out of it .

I've got a great Brutus story. Tuesday after work I needed to ride to Ride West BMW to pick up some Gerbing Heated socks. I parked it out front. The front side of their store is all glass so I could pretty much see Brutus from anywhere inside. I was just trolling the store looking for anything else I couldn't live without. I happened to glance outside and there were six people standing around my bike. I think two were other customers and four were Ride West BMW employees. Some were confused by the GSA tank on a GS labeled bike, some wanted to know where I got the cruise control and others wanted to know where I got the reflective material and the stickers.

Of course I got the idea of putting the yellow retro-reflective material on the lower portions of the Micatech side cases from you. I see Micatech is now selling a white 3M reflective decal kit that is cut just like mine but they also include decals for the front sloping part of the side cases. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery :yeah:. Either that or great minds think alike . I think that's enough cliches :bmw:.

my friend Thomas has a GT here, we ride together quite a bit, he says I roide fatser and longer on the LT than I do on my GSA, sure the GSA takes off nice, but falls flat quickly at high speeds, and ioos certainly no match for the GT M<g> and damn I got blwon around a lot of the last run to flo by trucks I'm wondering how it will be after 3, 4 5 days on the road at high speed, how tireing will the gsa get?

I'm begining to think that the touring bike is better for traveling for me, but man I do not miss the weight of her when I'm parking it.

I am waiting for my Gerbing Heated Gear to arrive. When it does, I will be riding in the snow. Can't wait.

Not attempting to hijack the GS thread, but there is a movie to be released in January along this line of thought . . The Bucket List (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0825232/)
Rob Reiner is the director and the main roles are with Jack Nicholson & Morgan Freeman.

I hope that heated gear includes one hell of a flame thrower. You'll need it to assure the snow is gone before your tires get there... :D

So, did you finally figure out what was wrong with the LT? Inquiring minds want to know!

Hi Dave and Happy New Year...this comment caught my eye. The RTP in all white and its distinctive look has caught my eye as well. Wonder why you like the RTP?
