A few months ago I got my KonTour seat and I had not had the opportunity to try out the seat heater until two nights ago and tonight. Whereas with the OEM material I would have to turn the heat off after a while, with this new material I can hardly feel the heat. In fact, I'm not sure if it's even working. Is this normal? Are the properties of the cover material that dissipate heat such that the seat heater's doesn't get through either? I know I live in Miami where our winter consists of one 40 degree day out of the year, but I'd like to know your thoughts on the matter. BTW, the grip heat is working and I don't think any fuse is blown, as nothing else seems to be on the blink. And, yes, I did plug the seat in when I re-installed it.

I'd check the 15 amp fuse to the seat to make sure it's not blown... the seat fuse is on a completely different fuse than any other piece of equipment.

When I'm at speed, I have to set the seat on high to get the heat I used to get on low; when going slow, the decreased air flow through the seat means that I switch between high and low as necessary.

Joe:

Before seats leave the heating elements are checked for continuity - but not output - and I check them for any cosmetic issues. I don't think there is a thing wrong with the electrical or elements.

What IS wrong is a good possiblity that the heater element was placed in the wrong position in the composite build up - thereby blocking heat transfer. It was an assembly glitch that another customer (who had his seat built the same week as yours) reported as well.

Go ahead and 2 day UPS it to me and we'll simply reposition it and 2 day it back to you - we'll pay for shipping both ways.

You'll fiind that when it is working properly you'll tend to turn the heat on sooner than you would with a vinyl seat due to the increased airflow through the seat, but it will still work well.

New employees... ;)

The only issue I've noticed on my Kontour is it takes a little longer for the seat to heat up but that's all.
