My PM total states I have 86 messages, my in-box shows 40. Where are the rest? Does it count messages I have sent?

Just curious if I am missing something here.

Yep - counts 'em all. You can delete PMs that you no longer wanna keep. You can delete 'em one at a time; selectively; or a blanket delete. Just review the options in the right most column of the main pages (inbox or sent).
