Got my first Performance Award today in about ten years,
Driving down the street into one of the interior burgs of Oklahoma City,
Nichols Hills to be exact. The speed limit suddenly changes from 40 mph to 25 mph.
No reason other than they think they're better than everyone else and need to get some cash from everyone they catch off guard driving by..
I guess it could be worse, only $79.00 and no points or record...
One of those "We just wanted to get some money from you today" kind of tickets.
Funny thing was I was bringing up the rear behind two other cars..So we were obviously all going the same speed.. I guess I was just in the back so I got the ticket because he couldn't pull out till we all went by him..
Pay attention.
Be careful out there.
Oh yeah, He was nice enough about it and I did sign the ticket..

You signed the ticket?!?!?!?!?! What a moron!!!
You should have argued you way out of it and refused to cooperate in any way. I mean after all it IS your right to act like an idiot for getting pulled over.

Pffft! It probably saved your life, especially if you have a pacemaker, but mostly you saved us from another never-ending thread about cops and whether they use excessive force. :histerica

You signed the ticket? What the heck is wrong with you, dude? We were hoping you'd be obnoxious, act stupid, refuse to sign, etc., and we could all watch you on youtube.com, twitching on the ground uncontrollably. :D
Be careful out there.

He was cleared of any excessive force. :) and let see the cop, was sitting right at the speed limit sign, picked "you", cause you are a white guy, cause the city needed money. You are right, those dare police. Glad you did not get tased.

Wasn't sitting right by the sign. About 50 yards beyond it hiding in a parking lot. (being all sneaky sneaky and stuff..)
I probably was singled out because I wasn't driving a 60 Thousand Dollar car..
Didn't say anything about being white... Just how well do you think you know me ?
But the only folks of color in that neighborhood work for those who live there.
Just as I was doing .... and I was over the limit.. Just like the two (expensive) cars in front of me who didn't receive a ticket. I wouldn't care to comment on the ammount of money collected in ticket revenue in that little burg either.
Normally I just go around that little piece of real estate. But the little old lady who was having problems with her computer needed me.
Let's face it. There are places where the cops just sit and write tickets all day to make money for the city.. Nichols Hills is one of those places.
Has been for as long as I can remember.
Why else would the speed limit suddenly change from 40 to 25 mph and change back two miles later.
And Now, What do you call a policeman who doesn't carry a gun ?
wait for it...
Convict..

So you are a white boy. :) In the great State of Florida when writting speeding tickets you must provide a tracking history of the vehicle. Meaning in the courts I must tell the Judge that I observed a vehicle at high rate of speed closing in on traffic or passing traffic or leaving traffic etc......... Meaning you were going faster then the cars in front of you. I placed the laser on the vehicle and got a reading of mph.
Just think of the many times you have violated the law and never got caught.
I got a speeding ticket in Nebraska, for $240, if that makes you feel any better.

Truly, I'm not feeling too bad about it at all. :(
He didn't do me nearly as bad as he could have. I understand that.
A friend of mine got one on my rural road and it was 160.00 so I really can't complain about the fine.
Just wish I had gone the long way around as I usually do. And I know better. You have to drive 25 in this neighborhood or they'll get you. I just was daydreaming and didn't realize I'd crossed the line into Nichols Hills yet.
I believe XM comedy 150 was playing and I probably was just having too much fun at that particular time. :histerica
