This is a squad mate, who was attempted to stop a speeder. The driver was also tasede and then came up with a gun.

Glad your friend is safe...

I didn't read where he tazed the "suspect" in that link... or missed it... just that the guy ran, crashed and came out of the car armed.

Well, prayers going for both of them.... I hope your friend survives the emotions and remains a good officer.

Didn't anyone tell him that you're supposed to let the cop write the citation before starting anything.

That is a mighty stupid thing to do, run from the cops, crash your car and then come out brandishing a weapon, an excellent way to get some body piercing at the city's expense.

It was on the 6P "News", it will be better covered tomorrow in the paper. I spend the day with the officer, making sure his family was notified, got lunch, made sure he did not speak to anybody about the incident before the investigators spoke with, his weapon and taser impounded, got a ride home and made sure he was ok in general. He was involved in another shooting at another department, he will be fine. He is also is still active in the military reserve. He is a well trained officer.
