"The Republic of Ireland, a country of 4.2 million, has more than 10,000 pubs and bars. The Guinness brewery in Dublin is the biggest supplier, producing more than 5 million kegs annually."
I guess the Irish earned their reputation as heavy drinkers:eek:

Because the are only 4.2 million people, yet they consumed 5 million kegs per year and that's only from ONE brewery!!

The "bandit" shouldn't be arrested. He should be given a medal...for his amazing good taste and discernment for quality. :) I can't blame the guy for trying. :D :D :D

I heard on the news that later in the day they found the trailer he stole, but all 450 kegs of beer were gone! So much for the working alone theory. Regardless, there are some sloppy drunk but happy thieves somewhere in Ireland!! :snork :D

How tight must the security be at the Guinness brewery if someone can drive in and take 450 kegs of beer? This gives me even MORE motovation to get over there and tour (case?) the joint. http://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider/naughty.gif http://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider/drink.gif

They were in a Guinness brewery and stole Bud?
I wonder if they knew what was in the truck?
I have this picture in my mind of them opening up the truck after the daring get away and finding Bud.
I would've like to have seen their faces!
Can you imaging being in jail in Ireland and someone asking what you're in for and having to tell this story.

Once you're totally pissed, it really doesn't matter what ya drink. Fortunately, I don't arrive at that state anymore. :)

Ahhh, I hoped they'd find the trailer with the Bub still on it. Would have been fun to share with a friend of mine.
I'd like to go along on that "tour" of the brewery someone mentioned.

Unfortunately the tours are now virtual and you don't get into the actual brewery. The do have a tasting room that overlooks the multiple city blocks of the complex. They were testing the reaction of the patrons to an "Ice" Guinness last time I was there. It tasted like sh_t! Took it back to the bar keep for a traditional brew . . . Oh YEAH! :thumb:  :thumb:  :thumb:
