yep, factory design sucks. good intentions, but does not work worth a flap !

with a little over 6K on odo and careful breaking habits, my warning is also on ! :mad:

i'll take Griff's advice and put a square of black vinyl tape over the sucker :rolleyes:

The design is good, its the assembly that sucks. My light went off 3 times before my pads got changed. Seems that the zip-tie that holds the harness is too tight and as your pads wear, even minimally, there isnt enough room for the harness to 'give' which in turn fatigues the wiring between the harness and brake pad and leads to intermittant shorts....

My rear pads wore beyond the point when I should've been warned. :eek: No assembly issue here, the wear status just didn't work. :(

You can also unplug the sensor harness and jump across the two points in the plug. I've still to hear if the GS-911 will reset a brake fault. One guy said it wouldn't, but he hadn't fixed the problem yet.

GS-911 doesnt reset the fault....I tried, no joy.

I had this happen on my GT - dealer fixed it under warranty. The service techs now know the problem, and do a better job of installing the zip-ties.

I had the front brake sensor wire break and it was fixed under warranty.

Much later I had the light come on again and assumed it was the same problem. Turns out it was the rear sensor, and the pads were significantly worn. Unfortunately, I was in the middle of a 30-hour rally running up and down some pretty steep mountains and by the time I got a chance to swap the pads out they were toast.

So sometimes the sensors do work as advertised. :)
