A friend asked me if I would ride a LT with 70,000 miles on it. I said sure as long I knew the history and that the motor was taken care of.

So would you?????

It won't be too much longer and I'll be riding an LT with 70K. Mine has 63,000+ on the clock with no major problems and very few minor ones.

Original owner riding a 2001 LT with 82,000 miles.
A few minor issues.
Can't find another bike worth replacing it with.
Not even the GT.

Only caveat, I'd look for an "05 or later
due to increased horsepower,
better low speed handling,
and the Xenon headlight.
With the delinked ABS.

Not enough of an improvement for me to swap out my '01.
We'll see in a year or two.....

I won't ride ANY bike without first giving it a once over.

One of things I don't check is the odometer.

Yes I would, and still do. Great bike! Just pulled into the garage with 127,810 on th Odom. But, I bought it new in '02 and have done all my own work since 25k. :bmw:

Just getting near the break-in distance on mine at 56k.
Works like a dream, no troubles at all .... just keep burning gas & wearing out tires :)
Can't imagine replacing mine ... but if I had to I don't think the odometer reading would be an issue for me ... provided I could trace the maintenance history and could establish that it wasn't abused.

The mileage wouldn't bother me at all. Of course the deal must be screamin' if you know what I mean.

The big issue is it must have been ridden without a long sabadical... The maintenance history is key !!! Got to have it and it has to look good...
