I use deer skin until it turns really cold. You can find them at lowes or home depot
About $18.00 per pair

In the winter, I have two choices.
Gerbing's gloves. Very comfy.
Gerbing's glove liners (used with any other glove I see fit). Verstile, but less comfy at times.
Hey...you asked. ;)

I always carry 3 pair......
Olympia perforated summer gloves
BMW gauntlets which are good in the 30's
BMW Atlantis gloves for in between

+1. With Gerbings gear all around - even in the Northeast, the riding season now no longer ends. And if I still gotta' make payments in winter...

I prefer thin leather gauntlet gloves. The thin leather gives great control and keep my hands warm with the heated grips turned high. The gauntlet seals out the wind in my hands, wrists and sleeves.

If you buy a gauntlet glove, make sure it has a drawstring closure. If not, the air moving by the outside of the glove will pull the warm air out of the inside and it won't be as warm. I have a pair of HD leather, Gore-Tex, gauntlet that work great in most cooler weather. If it gets really cold, I plug in the Gerbings.

Check on E bay for Held Storm Gloves, sold by New Enough. They are "supposed" to be warm weather rain gloves. Warm being a realitive term since they are made for a Swiss company. They are waterproof, windproof and quite warm. I've worn them in temps as low as 31* F and had no complaints at all.

I use Nomex flight gloves ALL THE TIME. These are my basic, regular, normal ride'n hand wear. Must be a carry over from flight traing or something.

Comfortable, inexpensive and they do provide a minimal nod towards ATGATT - sorta.
As things get colder I put on a knit set of 'fingerless' gloves over them. Think British street vendor type. Thankfully my wife and her aunts are expert knitters! http://www.heavymetalonline.co.uk/acatalog/FG006.jpg
When it gets nasty - then I put on a pair of water-proof leather motorcycle gloves (something my sister found at an HD steallership) that're large enough to comfortably take the flight gloves, overs and all. Nice, dead air space.
Anytime things change or get cooler than what I have - flip the heat switch on.
Even out here in BFE at 7k foot and winters for the record books - works for me!!

I don't like the bulk of any cold weather glove I have tried, so I have found a fairly thin glove by "weatherproof" at TJ Maxx for $10. These are flexible, have leather palms and are wind and mostly rainproof.
The other thing you might want to try is to wear a pair of latex gloves under your regular gloves.
And of course, put the grip heaters on high!

For really cold I go with the BMW gauntlet gloves and Under Armor glove liner. Nice and toasty and my hands don't smell like feet after a long ride. :D
