Red Line Gear Oil for R.D. !

I have been told that the use of Red Line Gear Oil in my rear drive may help reduce wear, heat loads, and may decrease the possiblity of premature failure, :eek: as experienced by some ?

Any thoughts from the group ?

Some guys swear by it, some can't tell any difference. I believe the use of various different brands and types of oils didn't make any discernible difference in the LT final drive failure survey.

As long as it meets factory specs it should be fine, but whether it is "better" is pretty hard to quantify.
