Hank,
What windshield do you have on your bike now? Obviously, a new shield will help if you have the stocker on there. I used a V-Stream and my wife REALLY liked it!

Make sure the lower wind wings are in the block position. We have the optional taller than stock BMW OEM windshield and it does better than the standard height. Also have her wear earplugs as it reduces noise, stress and the perception of being blown around on the bike. Also make sure she wears a tight fitting jacket.

My pillion tell me it's 20F colder back there with the stock wind screen down. Want to discuss clothing? B.B. Just down the road in GBury.

Hank,
I had the same problem you are having. The solution is different for each passenger, depending on their height and what windshield you have. My Bride is 5'10" and sits very high on the bike. the Tall BMW shield did not help her, no matter what position it was in. I bought a Cee Baily, #2 with wings +2, she said it was no better than the stock.
While at the National Rally this past Summer, I tried a V Stream and she said it was much better, so I bought it and she is a happy passenger these days.
It can get expensive buying and trying wind shields. Try to attend a major rally where the after-market shield distributors are there. They will let you mount and try their shields. then you can get the one that works best for you.
I should say, if I was riding alone, I would not buy the V Stream, but I am willing to compromise a little to keep my Bride happy.

Hey, Hank, welcome to the site. +1 on the replies above, it is sort of trial and error. I put winglets on my OEM shield, that helped some. More recently I bought a Parabellum shield, and it seems to be quite a bit better for the pillion than the OEM. I'm down in Hamden, you and your better half are welcome to come down and test out both possibilities anytime.
