gel battery difference

i would like to know the difference between a gel battery charger and a charger for BMW gel batteries? I was looking at chargers for my 04 R1200CLC and i saw the Deltran Plus and BMW Gel models. can any one tel me the difference between the two if any :confused: ?

Gel batteries need to be charged at a lower voltage then lead acid batteries. Any charger designed for Gels should be okay. I would buy a multi stage charger that has a float mode. This way is can be left on without damage to your battery from over charging.

I don't believe there is any difference except $$. Detran makes chargers for BMW. See http://www.batterytender.com/
