Love my Zumo 550. BUT there are some quirks I do not understand.

First, I live near three interstate intersections close in succession. Programing the same destination with several days/weeks time lapse between the trips and the gps does not repeat the same direction menu from the same starting point??? It will plot a non direct scurious route through town to one of the other more distant entrances, while having made no changes to the preferences. WHY SO??

Second, plan a trip to state and city. Gps calculates and then you travel the plan via the top navigation bar and lower right arrows. At the end a map button comes up, press it and you get a map, total mileage and expected elapsed time. Now go back to the recent routes log, and the mileage for the same trip is way way off, i.e. for a 600 mile trip it will be off by 100+/- miles. WHY SO???

Just a guess, Jim, but on #2: I think the recent routes log gives you line of sight mileage. When you execute a route and make it the "active route", you get actual mileage (which should always be greater than line of sight mileage).

Your #1 sounds similar to what I am going thru with my 2610. Not sure the answer though. And I agree with Cowboy Bob on #2.
