Did it jump to 1.5 from 1.0.7.....or have I missed alot of updates?

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7

That's interesting Jeff. I just used the check for software updates under usings Tools > Options > Software Update > Check Now with 1.0.7 and guess what?? It does not show that there is an update.

Now I'll go update on my own. Is this what is called the "bleeding edge"?

Thanks for the info El Jeffe. I just upgraded and only noticed a difference in the option menu under the tools menu. Other than that, everything looks the same. I also selected the "check for updates" in Firefox and nothing showed up. I went to your link and did the download with no problems.

Thanks Jeff.

It may just be me, but I had several lockups until I rebooted my laptop (os=XP Home).

Also I lost the vertical & horizontal scroll bars - changing back to the default theme seems to have cured this...

I have Firefox now, don't see a whole lot of difference in MY usage over I.E., and it takes longer to start up. I may just go back to I.E when the next version comes out.

With my ZoneAlarm firewall and Norton protection I have had NO problems with viruses anyway, so not sure what gain if any I am getting with Firefox.

I also tried Thunderbird for a while for email, went back to Outlook Express. Thunderbird has some problems that no one on the Mozilla forums has an answer for. Not ready for prime time. Thunderbird did have a GOOD spam filter though!
