The 5th Annual Ride-In to support the Eldridge Children’s Home in Eldridge Alabama will be held again as always on the First Saturday in December. Dec. 1, 2007. NOON

Free lunch will be provided at noon, with presentation of gifts to follow, usually we out of there by 1:30 PM.

Your donation to the home will be appreciated and wisely used. We suggest either a check, payable to Eldridge Children’s Home, or Gift card from any type retailer, food, gas, building supply, clothing and such.

The home has a 501-C; so your donation may be tax deductible as well, check with your tax adviser.

The home, since 1948, receives no state or federal monies and depends on donations and benefits such as ours. We, the benefit team, assure children are provided with their own Christmas Wish list items. The home will average about 30 children in all age groups.

You are invited to attend a Dinner Friday night in Jasper Al with my compliments to you for attending the benefit. This will be next door to the host motel, Super 8.

I have arranged for motel rooms at the Super 8 Motel in Jasper AL, some 15 miles from the Children’s home. There is a special rate of $44.95 for Single and $55.15 for double, if you wish to share a room. Please mention “Eldridge Children Home” benefit ride-in and you will need the room for Friday night, November 30, 2007. The phone number is 205-221-3050. The motel is located at the intersection of AL 118 (old 78) and 5 on the West side of Jasper. Victoria’s Restaurant is located next door, for the buffet dinner Friday night.

Eldridge is located in Northwest Alabama, at the intersection of Hwy 118 (old 78) and 13…just a mile south of the new Corridor X, I-22.

Hope to see you there!

Okay everybody, I just now made my reservation at the Super Dupper 8 in Jasper just like last year. The Eldridge Children's Home is the best reason to ride all year for me and I encourage everyone to please attend. Heck, I'm providing free entertainment just by showing up on a 1995 Harley-Davidson. So please accept Daddy Don's invitation for a very worthwhile cause.

Your pal,

Bruce Harris, Jr.

Okay fellow dudes and dudettes. Seeing as how the response to Daddy Don's request has been less than stellar I'd like to make a lettle challenge. From my home in Burlington, NC to Eldridge, Al is about 563 miles. Do ya think we southeastern'ers can raise $563.00 by December 1, 2007 and give it to the Eldridge Children's Home? The first $150 is on me and if my 'new' 1995 Harley-Davidson doesn't break down on the way to Eldridge, Alabama I'll chip in another $50.00 BTW; oil leaks and parts falling off doesn't count as a break down!!

How 'bout it!!? $363 dollars split say ten ways equals a big Christmas for some deserving children...

What a great day for a benefit!

600 plus bikes, 58 hobby cars, 800-1000 folks...

We raised $36,250 for the home today!:)
We added another $3,875.00 to the Scholarship fund that was started last year!:)

Bruce Harris Jr. who has attended now for four years and ridden 5000 miles in support of the benefit, received our highest honor.."From the Heart Award"

Another member of the forum, Mike Kimbrell on his LT won the long distance award with 597 miles one way.

Of course, Al Hennigan, Fletcher Clark, Tony Davis, Larry Hall and James Langley attended as well.

We have a great dinner Friday night with some of the long distance riders.

Thanks for helping with Bruce's challenge...

The picture below says it best.....:)

Hey Don,
Just wanted to say thank-you for supper Friday night and Saturday goes without saying "a great time was had by all". I can't wait until next year and maybe we can reach the 50k mark. I left Bruce in Atlanta this morning, he was going to ride some hills and curves.

Please ALL members mark your calenders NOW, the first weekend in December and we'll all meet in Eldridge AL. Some of the best fun you'll have with your clothes on. :rotf: Again Tk's Don and the 30 plus organizer's, you all know how to put on a benefit/ Michaeldale
