Autocom 5 pin helmet with 7 pin unit?

Is it possible to utilize my 5 pin headsets with the pro AVi control unit.
I see from the pin diagrams that the 7 pin uses a separate ground for left and right speakers, which is a different pin than general ground, which is mic ground.

Can I tie the left and right speaker grounds to the mic ground which is the general ground?

A 5 pin male will plug into a 7 pin female and it just works on my bike.
