Remember the picture of Dell playing the piano in the Eagle Plaines Hotel, Yukon Territory, Canada and the pictures of he and I at the Artic Circle?

Well, Chris Rauch from Chicago took those pictures and he is in SF this week and will be joining us for HDDC Dinner.

I will communicate with him tomorrow regarding his travel plans? Maybe even dinner near Dell cause I know they would like to meet again.

Hope the group can wait till I get a feel for how far Chris can get for Dinner.

Dell, I just found this in the Oct. 3rd hddc thread while updating the list.
Guys/Gals,

I’m sorry I made the Sudwerk suggestion. I have always been satisfied at Sudwerk — until now. Nothing was mentioned about a limited menu when I made the reservations, and the inflexibility of the manager sucked.

Dan, good call on the pizza place, low key and fun.

From what I heard about the last Sudwerk expedition it was a disaster - They all walked out I believe.

Sudwerks in Davis had a very limited menu for groups over 12 persons. They were not very helpful in trying to accommodate us.....you might think of a different place......

I've also learned since we walked out on Sudwerk that their regular menu has changed in last year or so and isn't very good. If you decide on Sudwerk, I have the GM's cel number and will PM it to whoever wants to make reservations.

If you're going back to Davis, then that pizza place was great. Don't remember the name...

Woodstocks was pretty noisy sitting in the booths near the food action, do they have a back room?
Chris can leave SF by 4:00pm and could make it to Sac for Dinner.
Even someplace like Chevys on the river might work.

Hey, how about Foster's in Rio Vista. It's about 65 miles from SF, easier than coming into Sac and a nice ride for the Sac group? I checked and they said they could handle 15 or so w/ a reservation....up to you guys. Thought I would throw in my two cents worth......

I'm glad I finally found the place. :o Many thanks to Dan and Frank for leading me back to Pocket Road.

All in all it was a great night. Nice to have one of those before the rain sets in and the weather cools. The ride back along the river was very nice. Other than the gas pumps refusing to provide Dell with the necessary nectar for the LT it was great. Nice to meet the Alaska traveler. Maybe there will be a newbie to take my place at the bottom of the feeding barrel?
