When I attempt to do that I get a screen similar to the one we get when posting a dealer feedback.
I see other folks posting replies to classified. Anything different with my profile?
Thanks for looking into this!;)

It's just being moderated to control the chatter in the Classifieds. The Mods there will get to it shortly and approve as long as it falls within the classified guildlines.

Maybe that a little too much moderation. I was asked by a seller to mention that I bought one of his items... but I cannot even do that.
Can we go back to the old way and just monitor the abuse instead?

Be patient and your replies will be approved if they are pertinent to the thread and not chit chat or just commentary.

NO. I am tired of hearing complaints from the abused and the abusers. You wouldn't believe some of the PM's that I get...

I am just concerned which section of our forum will be next...

There are 30 other forums here for discussion and none of them are moderated and they won't be. The Classifieds forum is for posting and selling items, not a discussion forum. It's very simple and we want to keep it that way.
That's all I've got to say.

Don't know what to tell you about that.
I am just concerned which section of our forum will be next...I don't foresee any more, unless we roll out a forum for purposes other than the free flow of information. We do reserve the right to make sure that all posts within this community meet the standards as described in our Site Guidelines (http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/guidelines.php?). There are some forums that require moderation. The Dealer Experiences forum has always been fully moderated, the event calendar is fully moderated and the classifieds now are fully moderated.
Classifieds are advertising, not a chat forum. They are simply a place for our members, who meet the longevity or posting criteria, to place an ad. Consider it like newspaper classifieds or The Motorcycle Trader, free for our contributing members. Neither of those mediums (or most other advertising methods) allow anything other than the posting of an ad and the editing of its content by the seller. By 'contributing member' I don't mean financially, but that they have belonged for a reasonable amount of time and/or have made a few posts. It is not a place for commercial entities to post or a place for people who simply join our forums as a place to avail themselves of our free advertising.
If you need to communicate with a buyer, do it by PM or other means the buyer has provided. If the seller wants to add something to his ad, the Moderators will approve the post.
This is not about saving time for the Moderators, it is about maintaining the focus of our classified advertising section. We are sorry if this choice gives some of you heartburn, but it is reasonable for us to make sure the content in our classifieds section meets the standards we have set for it, prior to it being published.

I am OK to disagree with this!:)
I know this forum is entirely handled by volunteers and I really appreciate all the efforts put forth!:thumb:
It is a great forum and I am a happy participant.

I am OK to disagree with this!:) Absolutely!
The one thing I know is that for any decision we make, there will be members on each side of the fence. If some of us knew how to effectively straddle the fence, we'd probably go into politics

I will have to agree with that. It kept one guy from selling a bike definitely (I can say that as fact, because I was going to buy it)
I got so disgusted with it, I changed my notification of when classifieds are posted, to don't bother telling me.
However they do say, they are not snipe hunting the list. In case thats what you're thinking.
