Hey all -

I'm into the 3k mile range on my new bike and I have found that the bike corners better when I am sitting further back on the seat (with my tailbone almost in contact with the passenger seat), as opposed to me sitting tight up against the tank. I'm sure this is slightly different for everyone based on body geometry but I was surprised by it. The only issue with this is that it's a little difficult for me to stay in the "back seat" position for too long because the seat has a slight forward incline to it. Has anyone messed with the rubber stops on the underside of the seat in an attempt to bring it closer to level?

Would this be because your weight is more evenly distributed between front and rear?

I can't think of why you couldn't custom pad the seat to the angle you wished.

My GT went for a Bill "Rocky" Mayer seat the day I picked it up from the dealer. I had them rework it so I'm sitting as far back as possible. After adding bar extenders, I'm getting much closer to the comfort level of the LT.

Have you considered a set of bar backs? That may help you sit slightly more upright, making it easier to stay in place on the seat.

I was thinking about adding the bar backs on my ride yesterday - for exactly the reason you suggested. The bike is still pretty new though and I want to play with all possible set ups before I jump to a conclusion and add aftermarket stuff. Definitely food for thought though.
