As I posted here earlier I recently had a change from my 1990 K100RS SE to my 2007 K1200GT SE

I gave my kid brother (42) my K100RS, and he was chuffed to bits with it.

In fact he was up this morning waxing lyrical about how torquey the engine was compared to his previous GSXR600 etc.

Then I get the phone call from local police to go to pick his wife up an hour or so after he left, and whilst driving enroute to his house came across this.

He died at the scene, leaving a young wife and a 6 year old daughter.

I've just left the hospital ... todays not been a good day. :'(

Wow, Steve. That is a rough day. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. I can only imagine what that must be like.

It can happen to any of us at any time. All we can do is try and improve the odds in our favor. Thanks for the reminder.

Sure sorry to hear of the great loss to you and his family. I hope you can get over the inevitable "guilty" feelings since you had some involvement. When things like this happen, it is very normal for anyone connected in any way to have feelings of guilt, as if there was something they could have done differently, or not done, to have affected the outcome. In your case, nothing. He was already experienced in riding motorcycles, so please do not let yourself get torn up in the normal questioning of your involvement. Normal, but not healthy. You have a tough road ahead in just getting past the terrible loss of your brother. I cannot even imagine the pain of that in itself. May the powers of your choice be with you in this time of extreme grief.

Slparry,
I am very sorry about your brother. What a horrible loss to you and his extended families. Having a brother that rides makes this hard for me to even think about. I wish you and your family my best wishes.

Steve,

Very sorry to hear about your brother's death. I lost my Dad recently. Never easy to accept the loss of loved ones. Heal.

I've been to the Lucas Centre in S. Wales and golfed there. Dave Aston, an MG rebuilder pal, is a good friend who lives in Cwmbran. I visited there frequently when Lucas was active in HD Brakes. Beautiful area and lots of great roads.

Sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you and your brother's family. I worry every time my son gets on his bike (V-Strom 1000) as I've seen him riding...........
