They are having it a month earlier this year, probably be better for attendance not having it so close to Christmas.

Really? I thought it was always Mid November. I know it's landed on or near my birthday a few times (11/11).

It was mid December last year. I was able to make it limping around on my cane. Mid November I was still in the hospital:(

Saturday. Probably drive over so that I can haul the farkles home... :DI didn't see too many noteworthy farkles last year. It would be great if they had more worthwhile accessory vendors.:)

Yep, the last four years have been within two weeks of Christmas. San Jose location was a disaster, a few days before Christmas and the event was dead.

Now's your chance to win a one-of-a-kind custom motorcycle and help cure childhood brain tumors at the same time!

For the eighth year running, Cycle World magazine and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation's Ride for KidsŪ program present their popular motorcycle drawing at the Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows.

This year's grand prize is a Honda CBR1000RR reimagined by Roland Sands Design. The bike embodies the unquenchable spirit of the courageous children who are battling brain tumors.

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa145/jfredrik/ConqueRR_concept.jpg

Dubbed the "ConqueRR," this amazingly detailed custom has an aggressive stance that looks like it's moving at high speed, even while standing still.

See this awe-inspiring machine in person at any of the 13 Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows, starting in Phoenix tomorrow.

Register to win this masterpiece in the Ride for KidsŪ area of the Cycle World IMS booth or click here to buy tickets now. You may also order tickets by mail by writing to PBTF, Attn: Motorcycle Drawing, 302 Ridgefield Ct., Asheville, NC 28806.

Tickets are $5 for one or $20 for a set of five. The winning ticket will be drawn at 4 p.m. Eastern on May 1, 2008.

Proceeds benefit the PBTF's medical research and family support programs. For more information call 800-252-6530. Thank you from the kids!

I'm going Friday night with some friends, then probably back on Saturday to do a bunch of demo rides. Want to try the Concours, Spyder, a KTM or 2, and the Buell 1125R if they have one.

It's Saturday night so I doubt if any will pick this up in time. I wasn't sure which day I was going to go. I'll be leaving for the show around 8am on Sunday to meet a buddy in the parking lot at the show by around 1030. If anyone wants to join up for the ride down, I'm in the Mather Field area, get back to me.........Frank Mc

Kinda scary looking!

What did you think of that thing? Seemd "long" to me - and the radio/cruise control "pods" looked to be an afterthought after the initial design... Overall, I didn't like it! So there!

Oh yeah - we picked up this little number for my son - it'll be a few years until he grows into it, though (attached)...

I agree with Chuck, no reason to go next year. No vendors I was especially interested in (even though I spent $1,000), so no reason to go back. I wanted to speak with a Kendon rep about my dead Kendon lift, but it turns out no factory reps were there, all independant sales reps with no knowledge, authority, or even interest. Did get to meet Arlen Ness, nice guy.

And if I'm interested in a new bike, there is Shredder to ask... :D

I once bought my wife a Corvette sort of along those lines, it had a stick and she couldn't drive a stick very well, but it was for her, really.

RE: the Victory. It does seem long, definately has love it or hate it styling, and I think most would find themselves in the latter category.

I guess I missed the radio controls.

I thought the seating position was very good, the seat was excellent, and it felt much lighter than it looked.

I actually think I like it, and though saying it might make some purists mad, I think it could be a very nice cross between a Harley Ultra Glide and a Gold Wing.

The proof would be in riding it, and then deciding you could be seen on it.

I agree with the guy standing next to me with this quizzical look on his face. He said, "It's just wrong." In so many ways.

Yeah, they had one of those $120,000 beasts on a stand in the very tiny MV booth in one of the outer buildings. I was surprised they didn't have a bigger show presence; I guess not much to flaunt this year.
