View Full Version : Just My Turn In The Barrel

The confluence of a series of less than desirable events (read as sh_t hit fan) have recently come together that combined have culminated in a Maxillofacially receptive rapidly ascending crescendo (read as flying brick to the face) that necessitates the immediate surgical removal of a life sustaining major vital organ:
Namely; my 2007 Blue K1200GT w/6500 miles which is for sale, asking $9,500.00.
No BS, no problems with bike, no choice, it simply has to go and go quickly.
Don’t wish to post “parade of personal horribles” publicly on-line but if anyone is seriously interested and wants more info please contact me by cell phone at 630-399-3892 or email LawForUSA@aol.com.
Thanks in advance for letting me post this here on the forum (or conversely if “admin.” appropriately needs to remove/move post …my apologies in advance).

Mike

That better be a misprint on the price as my wife says "NO" at any price and I may kill her if $9500 is for real.:bmw:

$9,500? Isn't that a little cheap? Got any pictures and how soon will you need the money?

I'm not worried about the money too much. But I've already got one side of dad's garage taken with 2 LT's. Where do I put this one? He might kick me out and tell me to go build my own house. No ESA on the bike but had six emails from people with no offers. It will still be a nice bike for 9,500 without the ESA. My heads spinning. I should just drive over there tomarrow and give him the check and regret it Wed.

I'm actually still working on this. I might get rid of my 1200LT to someone in IL. If I do that the GT is coming home.

Too bad you don’t have at least 7500 miles on it. I’d come there and get it myself. At that price I’d make myself love it. Or at least I’d have enough left over to make it the way I want.

I don't get it. The bike is almost new and $9500 is way below factory invoice, I am sure. Why not just sell it to a dealer for $9500? He could re-sell it in a heartbeat and make more than he would off a new one....???? Something doesn't smell right.

PM sent. Need more info and pix, if possible.
Wife is getting her own bike in the spring, so no more long 2-up trips. According to all the reviews, here and elsewhere, GT is way more fun solo ride than the LT...of course if that's wrong, I'm sure someone here will correct me. :)
So....if this happens, anyone want a well-dressed 06 LT to ride from Alaska next summer?

At $9500, I'll buy it for my son if the deal falls through. Put me on the list. Cash is available. Please PM the VIN so that I can carfax it.

Mike, best wishes in resolving the situation quickly that led to "the shit hitting the fan." With this sacrifice, I hope one day you will be rewarded with two bikes.

Jay,
Thank you for your kind, understanding words of encouragement.
The bike is "spoken for" a few times over in that there is currently a list of 4 out of town individuals who have made "sight unseen" offers to purchase with no reservations of any kind but no "deal has actually been done" as of this posting. One person has come by and seen the bike. He may be going to post on this forum subsequent to his visit so if you are able to do so I'd appreciate it if you'd keep this thread up and running for just a few more days.
Informationally, I'd made a commitment to the person mentioned above, a local prospective buyer, that he had 1st "dibs" after he had a chance to "sit" on the bike today at 2pm. He is a physically big/tall guy, never had a beemer, who has an Indian motorcycle that he has put 70,000 miles on and he needed to actually sit on the K12GT to know if he'd be comfortable on an upcoming planned mc trip to Alaska. He brought his wife with him and after sitting on the bike determined that the "leg room" simply was not suitable. I agreed with his decision not to buy, he would have been miserable on a long trip especially coming from Indian m/c ergo's. He has offered to accept phone calls from anyone needing to know if this is a "real deal" and to give his opinion about the bike. I'll not post his name/number but for those who have already made offers as mentioned above we'll try to connect individually.
The next step is to go thru the list of those whose names are already in the hat. 1st on the list is Dave in St. Louis, who at this moment is planning on driving up to my place to do the deal tomorrow (Friday), 2nd is George, and so on. If it goes beyond this I'll conduct the balance of business re: the sale of this bike off-forum with those that I have already been in contact with.
In any event, my thanks again to forum owners/admins. for allowing me to utilize it for this purpose.
Regards,
Mike

Mike,
The bike is everything you said it was. I hope you get everything squared away and get back riding soon. What a pleasure it was meeting you and your wife. The entire experience was very positive.

Thanks Dave,
It is nice to know the bike has gone to a real "rider" and one who will appreciate the bike as much as I did. Enjoy and be safe.

Mike
