OK, I love the air management on the GT with the XL screen. The smoothest air flow I've ever had.

However, will my wife like it from the back?

Is buffeting an issue for her?
How bad is the back seat??
Are the legs too high for a tall lady? 5'10" I have peg lowering for her on the LT and GS.

Really, it depends on your wife. I've heard of some passengers that love the GT. But my wife just isn't comfortable on the back of the GT, especially after the excellent passenger accommodations on the LT.

She's 5' 8"" and we're still working out the ergonomics for her. I added 60mm peg extenders, a custom Bill Mayer saddle, and an Aeroflow Tall screen. The peg extenders work well. I'm about to pick up a set of the AeroGards which should help with the side buffeting. The custom seat is better than stock, but still a bit too short front-to-back, so I'm working on a bracket to move the trunk back an inch or two. I also need to add a lower back pad to the bottom of the trunk. Then we'll see where we are and how comfortable she is.

But really, you just gotta put your wife on the back and try it, then tweak whatever needs to be tweaked to get her comfortable.

My wife is 5'6" and hated the back of the GT, which is why we have an RT....

With the Verholen peg extenders, my wife likes the GT a whole lot more. Next comes a new seat, and she'll be just fine. But she is only 5'4".

Get out of that corner, Rock!

Since we are being honest here....my wife LOOKED at my GT, ONCE. She won't be doing that again!

My wife said if I get another road bike she will be riding with someone else.

KevinBecause she'll miss your GT, or because she couldn't stand another one?

I'm going to Bill Mayer tomorrow (assuming I can dodge the fires) to have the seat redone. I hope that'll improve the wife's comfort, but we haven't done a long trip together, so it'd be hard to measure any improvement. A backrest is a must. If she had armrests, she'd be a happy camper, I think. It does help that she's short and light.

I'm going to Bill Mayer tomorrow (assuming I can dodge the fires) to have the seat redone.Say hi to Rocky for me.

And take the time to answer his questions honestly and kep asking your own questions until you are satisfied. That's the main advantage of doing a ride-in.
