Tell me about your chaps maybe we can trade. I have a pair of Nitro overpants that I just got and have worn maybe 4 times in the past few weeks if you're interested.

If you're not on a budget, BMW and Aerostich both make overpants. I've been riding with the Aerostich Darien pants since April. They go on/off very quickly, are armored, and are high-quality.

I too am looking for an armored riding pants solution. I'd like to make a single purchase that will give me crash protection, solid water resistant properties and be comfortable enough to wear year round in the N.E. Am I dreamin' thinking that such a product exists?
Thanks,
TD

No doubt, Darien Lite, more pliable, easy on easy off.

First Gear HT overpants work for me $160-$200 depending upon where you buy them,
completely waterproof, zip out liner, easy off/on,
available in tall sizes, you can try them on at Cycle Gear.

I use the HT overpants also. I've had them for about 3 years and love them.

Take a look at First Gear HT Overpants. I use a pair for work over my dress pants when the weather is cool or rainy. They have a winter liner that I never use. I bought them tighter than suggested because I don't use the winter liner. I have had them for 3 seasons. Mine has some lightweight armor. For long distince I use a differnet type of pant made by Revit but they are strickly M/C pants.
I don't use the HT overpants in the summer unless it rains as then tend to be hot.. They are black and I think a pretty good value. Good thing is you can try on all the sizes at Cycle Gear in Orange.

I have used BMW Seattle overpants for the past few years and they are superb. Full armor, easy on/off even with boots, very comfortable. Not cheap, but they are really durable. You get what you pay for!

I just bought a pr. of Bmw cover pants for a trip. They were perfect! We rode through a downpour and...not a drop...stayed dry!
I dfon't think they will be worn in the Summer though...they will be hot! But for cool weather...Great!! :)

Wife and I got back from BMW Grand Rapids last night at 9:30. 4 hrs. round.
Went there to buy riding pants, took some time, tried on everything, good selection, nice folks.
Decided on a pair of Firstgear Mesh Teck pants and bought a pair of Gore Tex
rain pants. Lost a lot of bulk around the legs with the MT pants.
Went up with jeans over long underwear, chilly.
On the way home with the MT on, 44* they were plenty warm behind the LT fairing.
When it gets colder or wet I can slip the GT pants over.
Not the easiest combo to put on, short sidezips, but for the $$$ spent it seems like a good setup.
Wife got the Olympia cover\ waterproof pant, seems aok.

REV'IT! Overpants with armor are superb. Velcro for pockets. Nothing gets thru. Comfortable and CE approved knee armor. Well padded. Great zippers. Slip right over jeans. Good reflectivity also. Easy on/off.
