The latest from OTL Intelligence seems to indicate the K1850GLT is no longer a rumor and will be the flagship touring bike for BMW released as a 2009 model.

There have been some concept drawings floating about... My SO will require additional trunk space!

I'll believe it when I see it. OTL isn't really known for the accuracy of their predictions. Besides, that rumor dates back to at least March for OTL, if not much earlier.
The fact that there aren't at least spy shots available of real bikes already tends to discount such rumors.

I agree - I'll believe it when I see it... But my SO will still need more storage than the concept drawing...

I don't think I've ever seen a m/c with an armchair pillion but no trunk. But that big six does look sexy! By 2010 the BMW flagship should cost $30,000.

The cutout might indicate a possible hinge, so the pillion seat could flip up and forward for trunk access.

OTL actually has a pretty accurate with the last 5-6 bikes including the evolution of the K40 engine into various models and the F800 series. I would also point out that BMW is much better at keeping these things under wraps. Very little was seen before the new 650 series came out and everyone was caught off guard when the 450 enduro debuted. However, OTL is not my only nor most accurate source for BMW bike R&D.

There might be some truth to this particular rumor. If you look closely beneath the right saddlebag you can see a bit of oil leaking from the final drive. Must be genuine!

I would hope that they would make it more than that. Add a top case that would be easy to remove, bigger bags that could also be removed, a lower fairing (with the tip-over bar in it) to keep wind off the legs with a place to mount MOP's/jpegs and nice intergrated mirrows so your not looking down and taking your eyes off the road. A two piece seat also. Just did a little rework to the pic, maybe like this?

Matson!! You should send BMW your resume. I would buy an LT based on your redesign. You could even use me as a reference.

That's the Kraft design that people think came from BMW. Here are more from them:
