My fuel warning comes on at around 45 miles to empty ... or so the BC warning indicates.
Anyone here tested how accurate this estimate is ? So far I've chickened out at 20 miles left :)
It's just even when I've got 20 miles left I've only been able to squeeze 19 litres in so the 24 litres quoted in the sales literature means I've still got over 1 UK gallon left .. so about 1 and a third US gallons remaining.

I went all the way and further and I still couldn't fill more than 22 litres. The accuracy of the BC also depends on the software version your GT has. With 7.0 it was pretty inaccurate, I now have v 8.0 and it's better.

The consensus is that the warning light comes on with about a gallon left until you hit reserve. Then when the miles remaining gets to 0, you have roughly another gallon left.
I've gone 30 miles past 0 a few times, but I do get pretty nervous by then. :)

If I wanted that kind of pressure, I'd have become an air-traffic controller! lol

If I wanted that kind of pressure, I'd have become an air-traffic controller! lolI ran out of gas and coasted up to the pump. Guy putting gas in his car said it was the quietest bike he ever heard.
It is one gallon after you get to "0" and you should be able to go whatever your last BC mileage shows. If you're getting 43 mpg, per BC, you should be able to do that, 43 miles.... if you don't start hauling ass.
I didn't do this test on purpose and was sweating bullets trying to find a gas station. The dayem GPS had decided to lock up after a lightning strike. BTW, there is no sputtering, or the like, it just quits.

BTW, there is no sputtering, or the like, it just quits.Mine surged a couple of times, then just stopped running. Twice. :(
I can just barely get 7 gallons in when it's empty, but I've modified the fuel filler neck with some holes that allow air to escape and thus I can get a bit more fuel in than normal.

Jeepers Grif ... now THAT'S taking it to the wire :)
BTW just to make you US guys feel smug .... that equates to 24 litres and in the UK we pay near enough one UK pound a litre, it's near enough 2 USD to the UK pound so that fill up would be just under 48 USD in the UK.

With all the near misses, the pressure must be causing them to nut up!

Thanks, Grif. Always wondered just how close we could cut it.
