Had my first roadside repair this morning. Nothing bad, just the latch on the top lid. My question is, should there be a washer on that screw?

...the latch on the top lid. ??? Are you talking about the oddments box cover or the top of the rear case?
...a washer on that screw?
What screw? Your description is a little vague and I can’t picture it.

It's the compartment lid right under the radio controls. The screw I'm talking about is the one that holds the latch post to the lid. I could not find a washer, but the whole looks almost bigger than the screw head.

Thanks
I know it sounded like a stupid question.

At least you didn't ask why your bike smokes after you leave it parked on the kick stand! :rotf:
