I've been asked to share with the members the note that was sent to Coni's memorial service accompanying a floral arrangement from the Board of Directors of the corporation and the attendees and supporters of the Curve Cowboy Reunion.
CURVE COWBOY REUNION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dear Graham and Cirstan –
It has taken us all a few days to collect our thoughts and to grow a little more used to the idea that one of us, and in fact one of the toughest of us touring riders, has departed this life, leaving you and your family and all of us with an emptiness that is very hard to fill right now.
A number of us have talked to Coni in the last year by phone and email. And all of us, thousands of us, who have come to know her over the period she served on the Board and during the years she brought her smiles and her humor and radiance to our annual reunion in the role of our “Miss Manners” have thought of you and her as your entire family struggled with this wretched illness. Thousands of wishes and prayers from our group to spare her went unanswered, but we hope the new wave of prayers and wishes from our members will be answered -- that God will take Coni to his side and show her where to find the finest roads to ride in heaven and that he will ease your pain with time, and ours as well.
On behalf of myself and Myra, and speaking for and on behalf of the entire Board of Directors and for all of the riders and supporters of the Curve Cowboy Reunion, in your time of sorrow may God’s grace and peace be with you in our time of shared loss.
