Hey guys...

I just recently moved to Bowling Green, KY from Northern Ohio.

I don't have anyone to ride with in the area. Don't get me wrong, I've met some folks at work that ride, but they ride Harley's!!!

Yeap..... You guessed it... Every 30 miles they have to stop... Not to mention it takes about 45 minutes to go 30 miles. You can do the math on that one!

I'm really looking for someone that don't mind having another GT rider join the group or possibly someone in the same vote! Take a Saturday and put a few hundred miles on the bike! Or even a weekend and put a bunch of miles on the bikes!!!

The Mrs. likes to ride as well, and we just recently found a good babysitter so we're all set. It's just 100x's more enjoyable when you can do it with some friends! Not always... But you know what I mean.

Anyone interested......... Please don't get the wrong idea here! :D I could see some of you guys having a real good time with this!!! hahaha.... :bmw:

If you are not already a member, why not look for local BMW riders here?:

BMW MOA clubs in Ohio (http://www.bmwmoa.org/about/clubs/clubs.htm?searchcountry=US&searchstate=OH)

EffJay,

Because I don't live in Ohio anymore....... That is the problem.

I live in Bowling Green, KY now!

Just thought I would put some feelers out and see if there was anyone close.

JACKSONVILLE, FL???? At least we would have one thing in common......

It's over 70 miles to the nearest BMW dealer!!!!!!!

I'm pretty far away in KY... but the http://www.bluegrassbeemers.org/ group is excellent and would love to hear from you!. Good Luck....

>>It's over 70 miles to the nearest BMW dealer!!!!!!!<<

Oops, clearly I provided a dyslexic solution! Although I haven't yet joined any local MOA regional clubs, I am spoiled by having a BMW dealer just 6 miles from home! It amazes me that the Company sells as many units in the US yearly as it does considering limited dealership proximity, except in major population centers.

Thats why you don't move out of Ohio. Actually I wish our farm was down south more. Even southern Ohio. But im stuck here where its cloudy all the time.

I could agree more with the dealer availability!! Prior to moving to Bowling Green, I lived in Toledo, Ohio.

The nearest dealer there was about 75 miles. I got all excited when my company offered me Bowling Green only to be disappointed again..... No Beemer dealer!

However, I do have a Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha and Polaris dealer about 3 miles from my house! Doesn't do me any good at all....... Except for ATV parts! :-)

Job relocations within the continental US or Canada are bad enough with lack of adjacency to BMW service and parts, but be thankful your job function was not transferred to China as seems to be the trend in the manufacturing sector. Try getting parts and service for your bike here: BMW China (http://www.bmw-motorrad.com.cn/)

Jeff,

Thats amazing... It's like they are behind by 3 years!!!

I think I would have to look for another job if they thought I needed to go to China.

Who knows... If that happen a BMW dealership could possibly show up in Bowling Green!

Bud:

You are fairly close to where I was born so I am a little familiar with the place. As for a dealer, Louisville, a little over 100 miles up I-65. I think it is owned my Jim Cooke, who also has a car dealership nearby. But the point is, they have rides every so often and I know that someone there has a GT, as there was one setting in their showroom with a SOLD sign on it. That was about 2 months ago.

Now if you like basketball, head for the hill. :-)
