View Full Version : Rt. 50 , Ohio - WV

Taking a trip over to Morgantown WV from Cincinnati area next week. Thiking about taking Rt 50 most of the way across Ohio and WV. Anyone familiar with Rt 50 out that way? Trying to avoid interstate but don't want to get caught up in too many traffic lights and traffic.

Yeah 50 aint bad (or 32 to 50) then have a drink of 7&7.
OH 7 along the river to the bridge up by Hainnibal, then WV 7 over into Morgantown.

I rode rt. 50 from Chillicothe, OH to I-79 in WV (south of Morgantown) a few months ago. Route 50 east of Chillicothe is very scenic -- nice rolling hills, etc. IIRC (it's been awhile, and only rode it once) the route varies from 2 lane to 4 lane. There were no heavy traffic or traffic light issues.

A few years back I rode 50 from Nevada to DC......
Can't remember a part I didn't like......................
But W.V. was especially pretty...........................

hey Marc... can't believe you've never done route 50. I rode it all the way to Wash DC once. What a hoot! once you get to clarksburg... the real fun begins. the stretch across ohio is so-so but mucho stoplights. still a worth while ride. i'd seek other routes... like route 50 to parkersburg... thent to Marietta... then rout 26 thru wayne national forest.
