View Full Version : Arai Signet Equivalent?

I have searched the board for similar threads, don't find quite what I'm looking for.
I am having to send my Arai Signet back to Arai for a warranty/recall issue. Trim strip along base of helmet came off, Arai acknowledges the material used for a run of these last year causes leaching of an oil that prevents the glue from holding. I'd like to find a reasonably priced helmet to purchase so I don't have to stay off the LT for the 2 or 3 weeks I'll be without it.
Any suggestions as to other brands that have a similar oval shape of the Signet?

I've worn Arai helmets for a long time. My latest is a Signet GT. Great helmet in every way for me, in that it fits my head shape great. And like always, how a helmet fits your particular head is key.
Since the Signet was coming up to replacement time, I began looking around and was intrigued by the Scorpion and the value that it seemed to offer.
I've lately begun wearing the Scorpion EXO700. It's both DOT and SNELL rated. It sells for less than $200 but looks in every way like a premium helmet. I say this based on quality of components, fit and finish, and features. But, the most important aspect, it fits my head shape very well.
As soon as I get around to it, I'll see if I can write up a review. :bmw:

Thanks so much for the feedback! According to Scorpion's web site, we have 2 dealers here in Austin that carry their products. I'm hopeful that one has the model in stock for me to try on.
Thanks again, safe travels!
