Since I've lost a bunch of weight I needed to replace my riding suits. I decided on an Aerostitch Darien 2-piece suit for my cool/cold/wet weather suit. I called them last week and asked a few questions, including leadtimes on getting a new suit. The very knowledgable lady I spoke to (who also wears a Darien daily in her commute to work) said it was about 4 weeks on jackets and 2 weeks on pants. When I got home from my 5 day escapade in the mountains, where it got really cold and the Olympia mesh suit just did not cut it, I promptly order the Darien suit, adding a back protector and the hip pad armor. That was Monday night at about 7:30 p.m. PDT.
I included a note asking that, if they could. please expedite my order where they can since it's cooling off and I would really like to get it as soon as possible. I was hoping I would get in in three weeks instead of four.
The whole suit including the additional body armor showed up at my door today, about 44 hours after I ordered it! I was completely blown away! :yeah: I am completely impressed with the quality of the suit and materials, but the customer service and above and beyond response to my request is more than I could have asked for. I can think of a lot of places that could take a few lessons on customer satisfaction from these folks.
I have no vested interest in the company, just a new customer who is highly impressed with their knowledge, product and customer service and responsiveness.

Four years ago Sally took great care of me (she also had a Darien, but then again, they probably ALL do). I ordered even before I had purchased my LT, to make sure I had the suit before Fawn and I took our first long-distance trip. Anyway, they delivered the suit in about 10 days vs the stated 3-4 weeks.
I too, was quite impressed. However, the original measurements were taken while sitting on my Ninja, trying to estimate the seating position of the LT. By the time the suit arrived I had purchased the LT, and found that my estimates were close but not perfect. Sent the suit back to shorten the sleeves and lengthen the legs and had it back within 7 days! Now I am even more impressed!!
Four years later I am still a happy camper - the suit has held up fantastically, is "seasoned" (never been washed), is extremely comfy - and it makes me look forward to the cooler weather so I can start wearing it again.
You will not be disappointed - enjoy it!

I bought a Darien in 2000 around the time I bought my KLT. My decision was based on reading threads on this board. The suit has been used every riding season since. It has been back for minor repairs a couple of times (normal wear and tear) and both times the suit came back looking like new.
The Darien is kind of stiff at first but it breaks in after a while. After figuring out how to fold down the collar, manage the vents in warmer weather, tighen the waist band in the cold, I realized this is a very well thought-out product.
Combine the Darien with a full set of Gerbing heated liners and I can ride in cold rain and 20-30 degree F temps. IMO Gerbing makes the best heated liners and AeroStitch makes the best outer-wear.

I have a one of there , one peace suits . I had them make it extra short , Extra squatty ...(;-»)....& I like it very much .
I stooped by there on the way home from Alaska & Inuvik , NWT this year . It's kind of a hole in the wall place , but very interesting .It's an old 3 story brick building , right in town there . They have around a dozen people working in there . Packing orders and stuff on the lower floor , and from what I understand the sowing goes on in the upper floors . There is one person to work with anybody walking in there door , and they take turns with that job . It's not the easiest place to find , but it isn't very far off the big road thru town ....Patric ...

They altered my suit to make room for the extra girth I have put on in the last 15 years since I bought the one piece suit. Great service if you need it altered or repaired too! I love my suit except in 85 degrees and over.

The Heat I ride in here in FlatLand is the only thing keeping me from this purchase.

The Heat I ride in here in FlatLand is the only thing keeping me from this purchase.I hear you. As much as I want one, I'm not wanting to move to do it. What's nice is once you have your method of madness down for riding suit(s) it's a beeyootiful thang.
I heard a complaint at our RTE about the washable waterproofing. I've never used it, I always just hose my winter suit down with the spray. Anybody else have a prob with the in wash waterproofing?

I'm not sure where ALL their jackets are made, but their web site does say, "most" Aerostich products are produced at the MN location.
You can't assume anything these days. A jacket can be made down the street and the matching pants made in another country. The same country that could be aligning itself with Iran and Russia.
Doing your homework just maybe the most important homework you'll ever be required to do. I can't speak for anyone else, but I assure you, I'm racking up a lot of extra credit with my homework.
