Had an 0700 biz flight last monday from phoenix AP, already got up at 3am to make it, I get to the ap and attempt to park the bike (ain't got no cage) in the parking garage..never did see the no bikes sign til the last minute, i get the ticket from the machine after trying a few times, then the daym arm won't go up!!!
so I have this ticket, can't get in to park and now I'm worried about making my flight..
I do a y-turn outta the area after the cages moved that were behind me, start riding, go to the economy east park lot...no motorbikes!!
man i was f'in pissed at that point...decided to see if the stoopid machine would give me a ticket, it does, and daym!! the gate goes up!!
and..I parked right around the corner from the gate next to a harley that has a cover over the area!! cool! But I think it was for employees only...didn't care at that point. I was glad the bike was still there when I got back.
I need to write someone, this is total BS, especially in AZ, land of the motorcycle!...heads up for other travelers.

Thanks for sharing. I actually saw a Silver LT last week at East Economy parking lot under the tent. Maybe that was yours???

Wow! Way more drama than you needed at that point. I have never parked a mc at the airport garge, but have at one of the satellite lots with no problem's, was cheaper, convienient and was given parking spot options.

Yepper, that'd be me...under that hard canopy, the harley was there again when I got back on friday morning! I still think it was employee parking, heheh...but at least I know where to park now
I just don't get this bullshitz with bikes and all, especially after hanging out in Europe for awhile. Makes me even crazier than I am already :)
I seldom fly anymore (I ride everywhere possible) but I've never missed a biz flight in my life and I've flown for 25 years previous to switching back to 2 wheels w/motor back in 2001. I wasnt' gonna miss that one either!!
I gotta say though, that saved me in parking fee's, the econo lot is about half what they charge at the gate 3/garage lot. I hope their still looking for that first ticket thats sitting in my oddments box, arharh...

For some reason, parking garages in this area do not allow motorcycles. I've never gotten a good answer as to why. One place told me motorcycles are a fire hazard due to the exposed gas tank. I couldn't keep from laughing at that one.

They probably don't allow them because they can skip out of the garage easier without paying.

Get a handicap plate and park wherever you want.

Not to change the subject with airorts but, on my way to CCR this year I picked my wife up at the St. Louis airport. It took me a while to find the garage but when I did I took the ticket from the machine and the gate swung open. When we were leaving I got in the lane to pay and the toll collector took my ticket and told me that I had to back up and go out on the side of the exit as the gate would not register the weight of my motorcycle. So parking did not cost me anything. On my return trip to the airport I just exited to the left of the toll gates and have not heard anything. As for parking in the garage I found a spot that was not large enough fo a car to park.

LAX airport allows bikes to park in the short term garage right in the center of the airport for free. And PDX reserves a section underneath the departures ramp just for bikes, also free. Very convenient.

don't allow motorcycles. Saw a few last year in the West Palm Beach area. A few in Knoxville TN too. Can't imagine it's legal, but then you'd end of having to pay to fight it. Main reason I heard was because of the noise of a lot of Harley's. Easier to just keep them all out!
