I just traded my '05 LT in on a new '07 RT. One of the things I liked most about the RT was the high speed stability. Some may differ on this, but surprisingly, I felt the RT was more stable at 70MPH than my LT. But, here is the strange part. While on the center stand, if you rapidly move the handlebars of the LT side to side, you can feel the steering damper kick in. You feel a resistance in the handlebars. I tried the same thing on the RT and felt no resistance whatsoever. Does the RT have a steering damper ? Is it the same kind as the LT ? How come I can't feel it kick in like I did on the LT ? I guess, ultimately, it doesn't matter. The RT just feels solid as a rock, at speed. I'm just curious. By the way, I really like the RT. I loved my LT, but this RT is just so much fun and handles like a dream.

No steering damper that I'm aware of on the RT. It's just a well balanced and stiff chassis with good geometry that makes it stable.

I have gotten a few small headshakes out of it, but only when accelerating aggessively and either lifting the wheel and comming down slightly crossed up, or countersteering too aggesively while accelerating. All pretty normal stuff.
