Lower Cord extender

Wondering if there exists a lower cord extender I could use to bring my IC plug-in point from the LHS of the front fairing beside the computer to somewhere closer to me ... like beside the radio keypad for example.
Seems like the cord I have running from my helmet to the current connection point is a little "stretched".

As far as I know they're the standard length provided by J&M with the headset.

It's not like I'm the size of Yao Ming or anything either.

Any help is appreciated.

The lower cord that I have from BMW has a length of about 2 ' without coils on it and is long enough to go over the handlebars without snagging anything. I think the standard J&M cords are shorter. The BMW cord should fit the J&M headsets.

Question....are you using a 1 piece cord from the helmet to the bike...or a 2 section cord that has a D shaped connector part of the way down?

I forgot to mention that you can make an extension cord also using parts from Radio shack. Go pick up a 6 pin din jack and a 6 pin din plug along with the length of wire that you require. The wires do run straight through from pin to pin ( unlike a lot of other things J&M built ) .

I made one of these 16 inches long and tested it on the bike...it allowed me to basically relocate the point where you plug the headset cord in.

Hi Ron,
Thanks for the tips. I do have a D shaped connector just about 6" from where the headset enters the helmet.
Before I blow the wad on the BMW (Bring My Wallet) cord I think I'll explore the RadioShack 6 pin cord option as you suggest!

I finally got around to taking a picture of the cord extender that I made. This allowed me to use the $21.50 J&M cord from Sierra Electronics instead of the $60 BMW lower cord. My headset with the lower cord cost me $115.00.

Headset = JM-HS-BCD257 $93.50
Lower cord= JM HC-PWY J&M Integratr $21.50

This lower cord works perfectly as is for the passenger with no extension needed.
