Mine are almost unusable because of the vibration.

Anyone got a fix?

Thanks

Get your engine tuned and the throttles balanced?

My mirrors are fine, and only vibrate once I get up to rather fast ticket-inducing speeds...

I agree.. Prior to yesterday I had the same problem with my recently purchased R100RT. Spent a few minutes balancing the carbs to each cylinder and VOILA....I Can See, I Can See!!! :-)

I use "Racer's Tape" from a local speed shop. It comes in most colors, and the glue does not dry out quickly like duct tape. Put a 1"X2" strip under the mirror assy, at the nose joint. Adds just enough damping to stop the flutter on my 7 year old mirrors with a safety wire fix on the broken front clips plastic area.

Note, this is an LT fix, did not see the RT category at first.

If the mirror housing is touching the motorcycle body on the LT the mirror will pick up the engine vibration. If this is the problem remove the studs on the mirror housing that plug into the metal keepers located on the motorcycle and put some spacers between the studs and the mirror housing. This will give some clearance between the mirror housing and the motorcycle and should eliminate most of the vibration.

Are the mirrors loose in the housing? My Muth mirrors were. I pulled them out and cut some thin mouse pad material into a round shape and put them back in. If you can put your fingers on the mirror glass and move it around then try the extra padding.

Note that RT mirrors tend to vibrate like crazy under hard acceleration between about 4000 and 5500 rpm - as Uncle Rock says, when you go faster they smooth out nicely :rotf:
