We used to have Yahoo Photo Album, but this is now history.
Kathy tried using Photobucket and it just sucks!
Any suggestions for a good web based photo album?;)

The best is smugmug. It's not free, but it is very reasonably priced.

Here are a couple of more to try. Webshots (http://www.webshots.com) and flickr (http://www.flickr.com) (requires a yahoo account). Both have a free side and a pay side. Both also have a computer based tool to upload to their respective sites. Webshots is where my personal stuff is and I maintain pictures on flickr for the GA Patriot Guard Riders GA PGR Riders (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ga_pgr_riders/sets/)

I like the google deal. Especially since it integrates nicely with PICASA

If it's not too late, I'll toss another vote in for Smugmug.

I use Flickr, easy and inexpensive for "unlimited" storage.

Nice pictures! Do you know if there a writeup of that trip somewhere? I did not know one could "tour" that close to the reactors!

Different tack - I built my own. Hosted here at the house.

Uses This software (http://gallery.menalto.com/) on my web server.

Now, if I could only take a picture (http://kc7zru.net/gallery/v/k1200lt/) that was worth showing....

That's interesting. Any idea how it compares to Coppermine which is what I'm currently using?

Coppermine almost seems a little heavy weight. The administration is confusing. It's got a bizillion features and I still don't know how to manage them all. I don't like a lot of the default settings but I'm too lazy to figure out how to change them. Plus there doesn't seem to be a way to share an image in two different galleries. One thing I do like is its ability to have protected galleries that are only available to members of admin-controlled groups.

Cheers,
-joel

Joel,

Gallery might be for you. It does not have the 'bazillion' features of coppermine or other full fledged (and more generic) packages, but it has always made a nice personal gallery.

I have tried to adapt it early on, but that was a no go due to lack of features, but then again, we need different things here.

in short: You should give it a try. It is a quite nice.

I like the google deal. Especially since it integrates nicely with PICASA+1 here also. I think it's easy to use.
