I sold my 2005LT last week and the new owner picked it up yesterday. I know I am really going to miss it. This was my second LT. I had a 2001 which I purchased used in 2003 with 2900 miles on it. I put 26,000 miles on it. My 2005 Lt was just 2-1/2 years old and had 56,000 miles on it. I sure hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I did. They are great bikes and I will be watching for a new LT if it ever comes about. For time being I will be leaving the site other that just an occasion visits. The people on this site have been great and a lot of help in the pass four years. I have been riding motorcycles for the past 52 years. I have owned a a good number of new motorcycles in that lenght of time so I will have a new bike within a week or two.

I, too, sold my LT recently. After many years of riding, my knees and hips are not what they used to be and I felt it would be good for me to give up riding for a while. I have decided to wait until next spring to take a look at the new F800GS which might fit me a bit better. I just can't seem to stay away from this site, though, because of the people that I have come to know, even if just electronically.
One note about final drives. A friend has another brand of bike that has shaft drive and his owner's manual says to wash out the final drive with 20W50 motor oil before replacing the gear oil. He puts a few ounces of Castrol in and spins the unit for a bit, then drains it out and ads the gear oil. Maybe a cure for the BMW? I doubt it but it can't hurt!
