My LT decided to take on the wall in my garage and the antenna base separated (antenna and base cone from the black mount attached to the bike). It looks like a press fit. Is there any way to repair this w/o buying a new antenna mount and antenna? Mucho thanks!

I wish I could just get better reception out of mine. Tried cleaning the contacts as per help posted on this forum, but no-go.
FM reception is weak at best, AM is totally useless.
( but I do like the look of it, LOL)

One thing that helped my reception..... I was trying various things to get the antenna to be set, but not ground out. Well, the spring broke of the bottom. I thought great, now what. To fix it I wrapped teflon tape ( I had for plumbing) around the end of the antenna, yet leaving the bottom clear. I then pushed the antenna down the hole being careful not to dislodge the teflon tape. Then I slid the rest of the assembly down the antenna and put it all back together.
I works great. Goood FM, Good AM - with no spring, no wiggle, no grounding out.

I was able to knock the press fit back in the mount, but it's still a little wobbly and don't trust it. Guess I'll separate the fit a bit and needle some epoxy in. Funny, the CB mount has what looks like (I wasn't wearing my cheaters!) a set screw securing it.

Your eyes weren't playing tricks. The CB antenna has a set screw. The antenna can be adjusted longer or shorter to set the SWR for optimum output.

I have the hidden antena on my 05 and it works great, hid it under the headlight cowling above the low beam, the bike looks much better with out the whip.

Funny, being a ham radio operator I didn't even consider that. Guess I was focusing on the other issue and put it all in one context. BTW, I was able to force the pieces back together, but still wobbly. On to the JB Weld!
