How to dimm display

Does anyone know how to dim the display on a 05 klt. A fellow rider can dim his on a 06 model by the clock mode button. When riding at night with the shield down I get alot of glare from the orange display.

On my 2002, I put a two inch tall strip of window tint film across the idiot light display to knock down the glare.

That was one of the NEW features added in 06. Us poor guys with the 05's are stuck. Dave's idea of a piece of tint material might just do the trick. I'll have to give it a try.

I wonder if we can get a firmware update from BMW:histerica .

Like Dave I bought a roll of window tint at WallyWorld, put a strip on the dash of my '02, and have plenty left over to stick on helmet visors, etc.

BTW.. you can get a 6 inch wide strip of the tinting at your favorite Y'all Murt... look in the RV sekshun.

You'll see that it's for putting across the top of the windshield... I use it instead for an "eyebrow" on the inside of my helmet .. can remove, stash and wash easily... etc... and if you "lose" it, well, no big loss.

You can cut it with scissors to any shape.
