Funny you should ask...I just emailed a friend of mine asking him the same thing. All I need to do is secure the kitchen pass and head over. But I was thinking that going over early Fri and seeing the show that day, heading home Sat. Originally figured the three days too but I feel it can be done in two.Course three can work too.

That could work for me. I should be in San Diego for youngest grandson's birthday on Saturday. Let me discuss this with the Queen.

I used to live about 20 minutes from the Long Beach Arena, but have moved since. Otherwise I'd offer crash space. Maybe we can hook up at the show and do lunch or dinner.

I just found out the doors don't even open until 4pm Fri so I guess going over that day makes even more sense now.

Let me discuss this with the Queen.

Yeah I need to get a KP too but I do not foresee a problem...I think..well I'm pretty sure...you know...;)

Well plans are coming together. Looks as though we'll leave Phoenix Friday morning to meet John in Wickenburg at 8 am. Head over to Long Beach and find the local Best Western (http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/productInfo.do;jsessionid=52B3C631A7C93435BA591D8999239B32?propertyCode=05508) near the Long Beach Convention Center (http://soc.motorcycleshows.com/imssoc/v42/index.cvn).

Here now is an open invitation to all area riders to join and ride over with us to view the latest and greatest from the major manufacturers. If you're coming from the Phoenix area just shoot me an email (beemerider@bmwlt.net) or respond here and we'll sort out further details.

Here is the route (http://mail.bmwlt.net/%7Ebeemerider/Clip_3.jpg) we plan to follow. And a close up of the route through LA (http://mail.bmwlt.net/%7Ebeemerider/Clip_4.jpg).

Ken, you still interested in meeting us for dinner or the show?

Still interested, but unfortunately unavailable. I'll be flying to Korea this week and will miss the show. Please take lots of pics.

A blurb from Yamaha about the show:

Yamaha Motor Corporation is pleased to announce that factory
MotoGP pilot Colin Edwards will be on hand signing autographs
at this weekend's Long Beach California International Motorcycle
Show on Friday and Saturday December 9th and 10th. Colin will
be in the Yamaha display on Friday evening from 6-8PM and on
Saturday from 10:30-12:30 and then again from 1:00-2:30PM.
Be sure to stop by to see the latest Yamaha products like the
amazing new 2006 R6, R1LE, and Electric Shift FJR1300AE and
get your free autographed poster of the "Texas Tornado."

Check out the Korean manufacturer's hardware. Very impressive quality and prices...
but the largest (so far) was 150cc. We'll probably see a flood of these
in our market soon...the price is just too good. Moto Guzzi has good stuff this year,
as well as Huskvarna and Aprilia have sexy super moto bikes. BMW
has the corner on new models, though, as the big four are same-ol same-ol.

You mean like this one?

When I was in Korea last year, my friend got me this "Amelican-style" bike for local transportation. Cheaper than a rental car, and more fun on the weekends. When he picked me up last night, he asked if I wanted to ride the bike this time. As it is -9C (20 F) with snow on the ground and ice on the roads, I politely declined. There's just no place to plug in heated gear on this little 250cc V-twin. :)

Enjoy the show, guys.

Anyone interested in joining me on the trip up to Long Beach tomorrow? May be 2 up, and leaving around 8:30ish. Let me know, otherwise maybe I will see those that are there already. Happy riding and Happy Holidays.
