Could Use Some Help

Pauline and I are on our way home from CCR and have a rear tire problem. Our ME880 has suffered a rapid tread wear issue in one spot and the rest of the tire is not far behind. For some reason we have seen a 3/16 of an inch of tire disappear in under the last 2k of miles!:(

We are staying the night in Price and will be at the Cycle Gear in Draper around 10am MT. We are hoping that they will have another ME880 in a 160/70X17 so we can match the good front tire, but at this stage of the game I'll take anything that'll get us home.

My question to you brothers in the Utah area is whether or not there are other options than Cycle Gear? Any input will be helpful.

Thanks Ted. We are on our way to Cycle Gear. All the motorcycle stores are closed on Sunday in this part of the country. Got a kind PM from a local LT'er who will help us. Gotta love this site and the people who go with it.

A special thanks to Nathan Coe for the PM and cell calls of support. Cycle Gear had both a tire and a tire changer (complete with operator). The total time was just a little over an hour. I was glad to have the LT tool kit. I had all I needed to get the wheel off and on (except the torque wrench). My guess is that the Chip-sealed roads, having a course texture, took its toll on the ME880. I was counting on getting home where I have a new set of 020's sitting next to my tire changer, but alas that wasn't going to happen.

We even took the opportunity to tour Zermott and have lunch at the resort today. We decided to take our extra day and stay in Boise ID tonight and that makes for a short 435 mile ride into Portland tomorrow.
